I've been thinking what a late model Torino might look like if Ford was to bring the car back using a stretched Mustang platform. I laid this body design a 2011 Mustang with about a 112" wheel base. I figure if the body is 4 inches wider than the Musta

Wow I dig it ! the rear needs to be a touch longer at the top? with a little less slope forward, got kinda a 75 Bricklyn look right there ? I have two 70 Tornio parts cars that could be hacked up for some of the body contours. I’ll get right on it Uhhhh any one got an extra 2011 Mustang to cut up ! Acutely one of my young guns here at my shop bought a 2011 GT Mustang to do this type of modification using 68 Must. sheet-metal though. But I like the Torino idea just need to sell half a dozen projects and get going on one of my own!

I agree with you about the Bricklin, The short over hangs is in keeping with today’s pragmatic design concerns. I wanted this design to reflect as accurately as it can to what an actual concept car would look like that was seriously being considered for production. Well I hope you can build it, keep me posted on it if you do. You’ll need to stretch the Mustang from 107.1” to approximately 113”. Thanks for the comment. KK

Yes that would be a great build, and I’ll probably do it some time, when I get caught up! I’m no stranger to custom builds, cutting, modifying, shortening platforms and such. Just never had a big break the SWB Thunderbird SC’s I built back in the 90’s almost made it to the big time with Steve Saleen and other seriously looking at them. I only built six of them,so far, and my chop 89 GT Mustang got a fair amount of attention back in the day but no big time opportunities yet! Something to do with being in Nebraska I guess? I really enjoyed looking through your work the Pacer is Killer ! just shows what imagination can do I hope my Lancer will turn out looking that Cool!
