Whats wrong with billet when it looks this GOOD?

CCM Rod Shop's 1933-1934 Ford car gauge panel fully polished machined for Stewart Warner gauges
What’s the big deal about having billet parts on “rat rods” or as we like to call them nostalgic street rods if they look this good? This is a picture of our 33-34 ford gauge panel installed in a 33 dash panel with natural patina….You got admit it looks pretty darn nice in a rusty dash. Let us know your thoughts. THANKS!

Thanks, if you polish your aluminum with a micro fiber towel that might be why it looks scratched….try using a nice soft cotton towel and a high quality aluminum polish.

I don’t know what the problem is. I guess the purest want them to be built with period correct materials. Nothing wrong with that but, I don’t see a problem with some of these pieces, to me some of them look like chrome plated. I’m planning on putting one in my 56 Ford wrecker. It’s also going to be sitting on a 79 F350 frame.

We use Simichrome polish…you can get it from Eastwood and just use a little dab, its the only polish compound we’ll use to keep our parts looking nice, Let us know how it works out for you.

Sounds like its going to be a cool truck Greg! All of our parts are polished…is so hard finding a shop who can chrome plate aluminum and do a good job at it.

I have used Simichrome on all my polished aluminum and polished intakes and valve covers with STELLAR results! If you have fine scratches and a dull looking shine Simichrome will get it back to brilliant shine in a couple applications! I use it by hand and CCM is correct just a little dab will go a long way!
