About
Rocky Top is an 1988 YJ Jeep Wrangler. It has been totally reworked from the ground up. A Spring-over-axle (SOA) provided the 5 1/2” of suspension lift. Along with the lift came a reverse shackle kit as well. Next we added some ponies to her. I found an 1996 Impala S.S. LT-1 moter and 4L60e transmission with less than 12,000 miles on it. We decided that would be enough since we were gearing it with 4.88’s. We went to bone yard and found some Dana 44 axles and added ARB air lockers to them. Once all of this was done, we wanted it bigger and stronger so we added a 3” body lift and 39”x18”x15” boggers to the 15×14 Weld Road Hawks. Then we sent the computer off to get reprogrammed and added a better breather, radiator, electric fan, bigger alternator, and lots of chrome! The only thing that is left stock is the transfer case itself, we only added a slip yoke eliminator (SYE) to it. We have added custom front and rear bumpers, an HD9000i Warn winch, custom radio, custom shifter, alarm, steering wheel and herculiner to the inside. The last thing we done was paint. We went with a Tihitian Sunset with ghost flames.
