When my Dad originally bought it, he did not like the way it handled but said that he later grew to like it. I still don’t like the way that it handles…not enough road feel. However, that’s about the only thing that I don’t like.
History of this Vehicle
My Dad bought this ‘70 Challenger used in ‘71. He traded in a ‘66 Mustang. My parents officially gave it to me in 1998 for my 21st birthday but we didn’t transfer the title until 2006.
Plans for this Vehicle
Currently it is parked until my wife and I get out of debt (Big Dave Ramsey Fans) and save up enough to have it restored (actually Resto-Modded). I would like to be able to drive it every weekend if I wanted without feeling like I am pouring money down the drain. With this in mind I would like to have a newer fuel injected HEMI (possibly one with MDS : More research needed) transplanted into it.
Additionally, I would like to replace the front seats with those from a new Challenger. The newer seats are of a much higher quality & they take cues from the originals so they won’t look out of place like some of the aftermarket seats would (ie Cobra).
