This was a fun project. I designed this car while working at Barry’s Speed Shop for car owner Dennis DeCamp. Mr. DeCamp won Goodguys Streetrod of the Year in 2007 with this one-off hot rod! Everything on the car was made especially for F-32. The name stems from Ferrari nomenclature. The design theme for this hot rod is early Ferrari and Grand Prix race cars. The body is hand-formed aluminum by Marcel’s Custom Metal, and it’s juicy red paint was applied by Speed Shop Custom Paint. Every detail is true to the theme, from the curvy body down to the I-beam, drilled, polished, and sandblasted components that are found throughout the car. Many of these components were precision-machined, then refinished to look like vintage cast components. The wheels and aluminum small block 427 Ford motor were textured and painted to also change their appearance. When I designed the race-car inspired interior, I tried to keep the vintage racing theme in check with one off gauges built by Classic Instruments that features a tach within the center of the speedometer. Classic did a great job translating my drawings into the real thing! The Gabe Lopez -fabricated leather interior is full of other cool details! As for the rest of the details there are too many to list here, but if you see F-32 at an event take a closer look to see how many unique features you can find!
