Epoxy or Wash Primer - Back To School

posted in: collisionblast.com garage, news on August 15, 2011 at 07:02 AM

In one of my videos, I use epoxy primer over bare metal. While this is my preferred method, there are other ways to achieve the desired result. I have had several people ask if etch or wash primer should not be used. However, that is an approved method as well. I believe showing you one way to do something would be less confusing, then showing all of the methods. Just remember to always keep an open mind and know there are many ways to arrive to the same desired result.

Im an X- Sikkens car paint rep we were drilled etch for years but now the times are changing im seeing way more epoxy used these days , This stuff has come a long way in 5 years . I personally never even pick up etching because you cant bondo over it without a primer on it first and once you epoxy a slight sand with 180 without breaking the surface apply my evercoat extreme and rock right on . well thats my opinion . My opinion on the pic above it need some etch with some urethane primer on the bondo spots and block an paint .
