My best friend (Roger Smith – aka SublimeGTX) just lost his battle with lung cancer today. We both joined here after meeting Chip and Chris Jacobs out at Mopars at the Strip last year. He has been fighting this disease for the last 3 years. They said he wouldn’t make it to sept of 2008 but he proved them wrong by making it to feb. 2010. He was a fantastic guy and the best friend anyone could ask for. He loved all cars but Mopar was his favorite. He will be deeply missed. Here is his garage.

My exwife died of that horrible disease, a year ago, after a four year battle. May your friend RIP.

We’re all sad for your loss and that of his family. The next time you see one of those ‘burnouts in the sky’, just know that it’s your buddy rippin’ up the skies in tribute !

JUST STOPPING BY TO SAY THAT I AM SORRY FOR YOUR AND ALL OR LOSS WITH THE PASSING OF YOUR FRIEND. I KNOW ALL TO WELL WHAT A LUNG DISEASE DOSE TO YOU AND THE FACT THAT IF NOT ON OXYGEN OR EVEN WITH THE HOSE ON ALL OF THE TIME LIKE IN MY CASE I ALWAYS HEAR “BOY YOUR LOOKING PRETTY GOOD’ BUT I GUESS THATS NICE TO HER AT TIMES BUT THE STATMENT SHOULD BE FINISHED OFF BECAUSE LIKE IN MY CASE “SICK LUNGS DON’T SHOW” AND THE FEAR EATS YOU UP WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING HOME FROM THE DOCTORS WHICH ALWAYS TAKES LONGER THEN IT SHOULD AND WITH A 1.25 HOUR DRIVE ONE WAY SO 2.5 JUST TO GET THERE AND BACK AND THEN YOU ALAWYS HAVE TO WAIT 45 MINS TO 1 AND 15MINUTES AND THEN YOUR EXAM SO ALL OF THE WAY HOME YOU CAN’T HELP WATCHING YOU GAGE ON YOUR TANK WITH THE FEAR OF RUNNING OUT OF OXYGEN BEFORE YOU GET HOME AND IT’S NOT LIKE YOU CAN STOP AT A GAS STATION AND FILL HER UP THE OXYGEN TANK THAT IS) YES THESE ARE ALL OF THE REASONS THAT I NEED TO FINISH MY CAR AND WITH GODS HELP I WANT TO SHED SOME LIGHT ON MY LUNG DISEASE PULMONARY FIBROSIS in hopes to get attion drawn to the disease that just like breast cancer 55,000 AMERICANS DIE FROM IT EACH YEAR AND MOST AMERICANS HAVE NEVER EVEN HEARD OF PULMONARY FIBROSIS and with the new H1N1 SWINE FLU scarring the lungs of some of the kids and adults who lived through the disease there is a big chance that the number of AMERICANS coming down with PULMONARY FIBROSIS (LUNG SCARRING) WILL MOST LIKLY RISE IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS.
