After I did this oil painting – 24” x 36” on canvas – I began to hear from folks who grew up locally (I’ve only lived in Ohio for about 10 years) who had stories on the history of this 4 door Buick which had been sitting in the same spot for about the last 25 years. Turns out this had been the driver’s ed car. The instructor had the students drive around town (granted our town is only about 25,000 in the population count) during daytime traffic. Imagine 16 year olds attempting to dock this thing during parallel parking practice on the main drag through town!
