"The Photographer of the Dirty South"
Professional commercial photography session shot in Atlanta at the Motorgrrrl Studio. A photography company inspired to innovate and create entirely new images working within existing photographic traditions.
My inspiration for tomorrow’s shoot is straight out of the 70’s. Mid to late is more of the epic time for this creative visual. Fleetwood Mac were in their prime, 1975 and up to 1987. Playboy..mid to late 70’s as well..(in my opinion)
And this is where we set the stage. I have always been a big fan of Fleetwood Mac and music has always been a big creative push for me with my work, and yes..we have the auditory inspiration playing when I am doing my photography. “Gypsy”, always has been my favorite because I can relate.
“To the gypsy that remains
Faces freedom with a little fear
I have no fear, I have only love
And if I was a child
And the child was enough
Enough for me to love
Enough to love.”
And this is what I hear when I create the shoot.
As for Playboy, well I have always loved woman (on an artistic level) they are simply amazing in so many ways and again I thank my dad for that insight. I’m not a big fan of the “Store Bought” version, I can appreciate it but no where near the form that graces the pages predominantly in the 70’s. Natural and perfectly constructed in form. This must make a comeback.
