Drag racing has finally come to those of us here in beautiful, exotic northern, Illinois, and this past Sunday a few hundred hardy souls braved some cold and miserable conditions to get that first whiff of nitromethane…

Like I said, it was cold!!! Temps were in the upper 40’s, but, when combined with a very stiff northwest wind made it feel more like the low 30’s… Still didn’t keep me from getting a pretty vicious sunburn though! LOL

There was lots of great on track action, with nostalgia funny cars… The “Chicago Wise Guys” in their Pro Mods…
My favorites, the “Midwest Super Sock Mafia” in their outlaw Super Stocks… And some pretty darn good 1/8 mile bracket racing… Made it all worth getting frostbite and sunburn at the same time…. LOL!
