The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge will conduct their first national engine build competition at SEMA 2009

The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge will conduct their first national engine build competition at SEMA 2009

What began as one competition at Winners Circle/1st Performance Warehouse’s Race and Performance Expo 2008 will take center stage at the 2009 SEMA show as 4 high school Vo-tech teams will compete to be the first to disassemble and reassemble a tricked out high performance 350 Chevy engine. The students will be timed, but also will be judged for proper dis-assembly and re-assembly and sportsmanship. Torque specs, proper wiring, lubrication all are taken into consideration. In effect the competition is much like the tear-down and rebuild process that takes place in many professional levels of drag racing between rounds
This program is designed to introduce the excitement of performance and racing to high school students and reinvigorate many high school shop classes that have seen falling registrations. In 2010 the Engine Builders challenge will have 8 regional competitions for qualification for next year’s SEMA event. Make sure your high school shop program knows about the event found at http://www.hotroddersoftomorrow.com.
