Rocky Mountain Wild Fire
1947 Ford Convertible
This rendering was done for Jerry & Sharon Hanke out of Colorado. The Hankes were my first “personal” custom automotive customers. Guess you could say I was a birthday present for Jerry from his wife Sharon. Sharon called my boss Mike (while I was working for Strictly Street Machines Inc as their designer) to find out if SSMI knew of anyone that could do paint scheme renderings. I was told by Sharon my boss was hesitant to give out my name do to the fact he didn’t want to loose me. But he did and the rest is history. Hopefully Jerry will have his ‘47 Ford done in the near future, and that will be my first hot rod design to be done in full scale.
Photoshop CS2 / Illustrator CS2 / Apple iMac G5 / all done with a mouse / don’t own a Wacom tablet yet.
Letter of Recommendation of the Hankes:
To whom this may concern:
We are writing regarding a young artist, Josh Carper. He designed the color scheme and flames for our 1947 Ford convertible. We only met with him one time, showed him some pictures, some of which we were sure couldn’t be incorporated into the body shape of our car. After briefly discussing what we liked and didn’t we said good-bye. A few weeks later he showed us his design; it was printed in beautiful color and absolutely amazing. He was able to use all of the designs and colors we liked and his sketch of the flames was perfect! Much to our surprise it didn’t need any changing. Josh’s talent is awesome. We believe he is only starting an exciting career. We certainly want him to do any further work for us that we may need done.

Sponsors & Special Thanks
I would like to thank Jerry and Sharon Hanke for an amazing experience and I hope to see them soon in the near future when their car is done or if they need any help. I’m excited and hope their ‘47 Ford does well in car shows they take it to.
