What motor are you running in your pontiac? Still have the independent rearend in it? I have a convertible that is all painted inside and out but needs to be assembled. I bought a 400 for it and am not sure what I will do for the tranny but I am going to ditch the rear for a nine inch so when I lower it it won’t look like a VW bug. Cool car. It’s nice to see there are a few around that people care enough to restore.
This one has a modified slant 4. Modifications are slowly being made as more is learned. They are similar to 389’s physically, but are tempermental. It will probably end up with a blowthrough powerjection throttle body and turbo. It still has the original torque tube and transaxle. That will remain until the turbo addition. I’ll probably go with a TK0 and 9 inch at that time. There are plenty of options for your 400 driveline. You’ll have to put a trans tunnel in regardless of choice. I’d like to see pics of your car [ dj @ v-r-r.com (no spaces)]. I have an interesting ‘63 convertible restomod project in the works myself… I’ll post more about that when I get to it. Dave
That cool. Nobody ever messes with the four cylinder. Mine had one of those in it when I bought it. Problem is I dropped the wingnut for the aircleaner down into the carb and had no way to get it out. Scarred a cylinder wall and never was right so I put a 326 in it. I painted it years ago and it hasn’t been driven for like 5-6 years. The only pics I have right now are when I painted it so it is apart. I will send you a few though. Take care.
