About
We got this car for free from a former co-worker of my dad. The car was sitting for about 20 years in his woodworking shop and he wanted the extra room so it had to go.
The car has been identified as a Sears Rascal which was sold through the Sears catalog in 70 and 71. Sears sold the basic body as well as accessories such as chrome items, tops, motors, etc. I think that’s pretty cool because there is NO WAY lawyers would allow Sears to sell half of a car in today’s world.
I’m not sure what my plans are for this car. The pan was totally shot so it got scrapped. The motor is locked up so we really got the car for the body. I’d like to do a retro 70’s style metal flake build with it, but also wouldn’t mind doing a modern car with larger wheels and air-bag suspension. It will be a while before I get to this so I’ve got plenty of time to decide.
