About
The car I’ve wanted to own since
a friend of my Dad’s gave me a ride in one when I
was 14 years old.
I remember to this day riding a city bus at 15
years old and passing a used classic car dealership
and seeing a black E Type in showroom
window selling for $3000.00.
Which, in the early 70’s as I sat
in the bus I thought I could swing. Well it took
a little longer than I thought and a little more money.
The car is a solid driver. It is a Series II E type Jaguar
with the 4.2 liter engine,
twin SU carbs and factory air conditioning.
It’s no show car but should be something to work on for
the winter and be a decent driver.
First, to get the car to start easier, it’s very cold blooded.
The silver color is not the original color, the car was shipped
from Coventry England to Detroit Michigan
in Willow Green, a very light almost pastel green.
Which is probably why the car is silver today.
