I have a bucket list and yes I did get to cross MR. CHIP FOOSE FROM THE LIST SEEING I DID GET TO MEET HIM AT THE MILWAUKEE AUTO SHOW IN JANUARY 2010. On this bucket list are very few things but most of all is what they are or what the list is about. The bucket list is because back in JUNE AND JULY 2003 I WAS GIVEN A 20- 30 CHANCE TO LIVE 2 TO 5 YEARS. Boy I freaked out know that I had worked out and road bike at time peddling my bike 120 miles in 12 hours just to stay fit and healthy inorder to be a good grandpa to my grand kids like my grandpa was to me. My grandpa (seeing my dad ran out on us 4 kids when I was only 5 years old) was the best thing to a father anybody could ask for. He tought me to FLY A KIT and ride a 2 wheel bike while my drunken stepfater would beat us even as young as 5 years old we would get his drunken boxing lessions to which he would at times bloody our nose or lip and by 8 years old he even knocked me out cold with his golden glove leather gloves in my face.
In 2003 when I was told about my illness I went to my work place and told them that my doctors told me to get removed from the oils used to coat the sheet metal and tool in the 550 ton Punch press before what at the time was only HYPERSENSITIVITY PNEUMONITIS WOILD PROGRESS TO THE DEADLY PULMONARY FIPROSIS. Well the boys at MAY STEEL where I worked told me that if they were to move me that others would wonder why I was removed from the oils and then no body would want to work with the oils and besides it would make them look bad if this would ever turn into a work-mans comp claim. Well 2 years of repeted exposure and then the illness became so bad that yes I head full blown PULMONARY FIBROSIS hence I am now so sick that I can no longer do my own work to finish my FIRST LOVE SINCE I BOUGHT MY 1972 GRAN TORINO SPORT BACK IN 1977. The paint and body was done by AUTHENTIC AUTO IN CUDAHY WISCONSIN and she looks great besides a few flaws in the reassembly when the chipped the paint but the paint job looks like glass in the new color HOUSE OF KOLOR LAKE VIOLET. I have ordered almost everthing needed to put her back together all of the weather stripping and rubber seals, the new carpet and so on from DEAR BORN CLASSICS. For the engine she will be running without any linkage at all because she will be managed by FORD RACING INSTALL KIT WITH THE COLD AIR KIT,WIRING TO DRIVE THE DRIVE BY WIRE GAS PADDLE THAT ALSO CAME IN THE KIT WITH THE STAND ALONE ECM SYSTEM. She will be running a crate 2007 SHELBY GT500 5.4 SUPERCHARGED ENGINE. To back up that great engine setup she will be setup with the NEW TCI 6X SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WITH THE TRANS CONTROLER TO CONTROL SHIFT POINTS AND FIRMNESS SO NO MORE SHIFT KIT NEEDED TO SLAM YOUR NECK AT EVERY SHIFT BECAUSE SHE CAN HAVE A FEW PROGRAMS PROGRAMED TO DRIVE SMOOTH WHILE CRUSING AND JUST A TOUCH OF A BUTTON WHEN STOPPED NEXT TO A ROD A THE RED LIGHT. THIS TRANS IS ALL LINKAGE FREE ALSO WITH A STAND ALONE COMPUTER TO RUN THE TRANSMISSION. I still need to figure out what will work best to up grade the BRAKES AND SUSPENSION SEEING THAT RIDE TECH AND MOST OF THE BIG BRAKE GUYS DO NOT HAVE A KIT TO WORK ON THE 1972 GRAN TORINO. I will need a total rewire done to the car see the guys who did my car gutted it from wiring and weather stripping and all metal line ie brake and fuel line and never put the new stuff back on the car. I will need some body to reproduce my stock gas tank with a STAINLESS STEEL WITH INTANK PUMP TO RUN THE SUPERCHARGED 5.4. I do know how HOT ROD MAGAZINE FELT AFTER ASKING SOME OF THE BIG NAMED BUILDERS TO DO THE 2010 HOT ROD POWER TOUR with them and only 4 or 5 out of the 28 invites even showed to do the tour but I had written the folks at the magazine many times and the last time I wrote just before the 2010 tour to ask them for help and me having them on my bucket list to do the Power tour they replyed by telling me that they are way to busy to bother with me but their asstant would contact me which never happened so I guess what gos around comes around even for the at the HOT ROD MAGAZINE. I do not need the TROYS FROM RAD RIDES OF THE FOOSES TO HELP ME FINISH MY CAR SEEING THEY NEVER E-MAILED MY WIFE BAQCK WHEN SHE PLEADED FOR HELP WITH THIS DIEING DREAM TO DRIVE THIS CAR AGAIN AFTER OVER 30 YEARS NOW BEFORE GOD DESIDES THAT HE HAS BORROWED ME ENOUGH TIME SINCE 2003. I am looking for any body who feels like doing a little work to finish her off. I would let guys like RIDE TACH AND WIL-WOOD,BEAR, OR STAINLESS BRAKES TO TAKE MY CAR TO THEIR SHOPS TO DESIGN A KIT TO SELL TO THE OTHER TORINO OWNERS WHO E-MAIL THEM EVERY DAY ASKING FOR A KIT FOR THEIR TORINO’S BUT JSUT GET THE SAME REPLEY THAT I HAVE GOTTEN “SORRY WE DO NOT SELL A SYSTEM FOR YOUR CAR” OR I GUESS THEY JUST MAKE TO MANY SALES and don’t need the extra sales from the over 30,000 FORD GRAN TORINO OWNERS OUT THERE. I know that the NOVEMBER SEMA SHOW IS COMING UP AND THIS CAR FINISHED WOULD SHOW OFF THE BEST OF THE AFTERMARKET PRODUCTS AND JUST TO SEE HER FINISHED I WOULD LET ANY REAL CAR BUILDER SHOW HER OFF AT THE SHOW. You see when you get older or I guess as sick as I am you tend to look back at your life to see what you have done to help the under dogs of this world you then to ask yourself if you have done any thing to make a difference for any body at all while here on earth and I guess me like most feel like I have not done enough to deserve a seat next to God. I try to be a good human and have always stopped to help some body in need even at times changing a starter for a complete stranger one time on the side of a snow plowed Wisconsin street where this old guy was down on his luck and alone in life with out the moey to repair his car so I just happen to be on my way home from the bank just after cashing my CHRISTMAS BONUS and even with 4 kids at home I bought this sad old mans starter and put it into his car sending him on his way in a dependable car in that cold WISCONSIN WINTER. But now I do know that God has a reason for every thing and God tacking away my 120 mile bike rides in a 12 hour time line of peddling my butt of and God tacking my Love of car away from me to the point where I can no longer be around GAS FUMES, THE LOVE OF RACE GAS FUMES US TO JUST TURN ME ON, EVEN PUMPING GAS IS A NO NO FOR ME, PAINT FUMES, DUST GRINDING SPARKS BECAUSE OF THE DUST AND ALSO NO TO SMART WHILE ON OXYGEN AND HOT AND COLD EXTREMES JUST WHIP ME OUT.
I do still want to use this love of autos and my 1972 GRAN TORINO SPORT to reach some of the other folks whom have this disease. You see no body has even heard of PULMONARY FIBROSIS and the fact that it kills one AMERICAN EVERY 13 MINUTES. If you look up on you tube or google Pulmonary Fibrosis and then add EVIL KNEVIL you will come acroos some of EVIL KNEVIL’S last interviews that even HARYLEY WON’T DISPLAY AT THEIR MUSEUM IN MILWAUKEE. The final pleas from MR. KNEVIL asking for help to find a cure of even some kind of treatment for pulmonary fibrosis. Evil along with most of us with Pulmonary Fibrosis struggle for Oxygen because our lungs are too scarred to let the Oxygen get through to our blood stream and body argans hence we die a very painful way by suffocating to death hence the name of my 1972 Torino will be :”BREATHLESS” BECAUSE PULMONARY FIBROSIS SUCKS THE AIR RIGHT OUT OF US. ANY BODY WILLING TO COME TO WISCONSIN AND HELP OR EVEN LIKE A GREAT CAR BUILDER OR AFTER MARKET SUPPLIER OUT THERE THAT NEEDS A 2010 NOVEMBER SEMA CAR SHE IS HERE TO BE FINISHED JUST SO I CAN USE HER TO DO A CROSS COUNTRY TO GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT THIS DISEASE. I f you ever get to the point to ask your self ” have I done enough to help others or have I made a big enough mark here on earth to be remembered the way I would like to be remembered” well if you get to that point you may be just like me, too sick to go back and make a difference. And not to scare all of you car builders, body men, welders , fabrecators and last but no least the painters whom all have been doing some kind of damage to your own lungs ALL OF THESE YEARS DOING WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO MAKE A LIVING.And not to wish this disease on anybody but any one of you out there could also get the same news as I did back in 2003(if you are lucky you have a 20%-30% chance for only another 2-5 years to live) but maybe by them my efforts to get this disease on the radar of the AMERICAM PEOPLE AND ALSO THE GUYS WHO DO THE FUNDING AND RESEARCH OF THESE KINDS OF DISEASES. AT this time there isn’t any cure or real treatment besides avoiding all of the fun parts of being a car crazy guy like me.
