49-52 chevy 1-piece door glass HELP!

posted in: brad starks customs garage, news on March 13, 2009 at 09:33 AM

Has anyone installed one-piece door glasses in their 49-52 chevy car. I am trying to do this and the curvature of the inner door panel will not let me move the guide rails toward the interior enough to line up the glass as it goes up. The glass tries to go up inside the car and not straight with the door. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

two ways to rock this boat , one is score some .75” x .065” wall square tubing, slice in half to make new channels, remove you stock channels, set the window from scratch. the inner door panel will need to be trimmed a bit .
choice two is use Hagans UWC window channel kit, saves some time on Fabbing everything, comes with a few pieces for adjustment.
What regulator system are you using for the windows?

I have already made new channels and all the works and using specialty power window motors. The channels are laying against the inner door panel and are still not lining up with the window opening. The opening and the channels are at two different angles.
