I’m constantly surprised at car shows, by some of the finest examples of automotive excellence…detailed in every way, except for the audio system. It’s kinda like cake with no icing, maybe it’s just me…I like attention to detail top to bottom, inside and out.

Every car I build gets a killer audio/video system, some get used more than others but all are appreciated. I think maybe some of these guys just never had exposure to a quality system, and don’t know what they are missing?

Here is an example of a finished out Chevelle trunk!

Come on man, You can’t hear the sweet music of all 8 cylinders responding to the slightest movement of my foot and that awesome tuned exhaust, over the radio. The radio is for blocking out all those unwanted noises, lol.

Actually I like a good stereo. There was almost no room in my 57 because the gas tank is still behind the seat. I was able to get some 4×10’s back there and some 4” in the kick panels. It sounded bad, so I got a hold of Cruxfield and they had the fix, a small amp and speaker system that with a little mods fit under the passenger seat. it made a world of difference.

From strickly a performance standpoint, the weight of all those mondo amps and sub whoopies is useless. Guys spend untold thousands at gaining a couple of HP and then load up the trunk! HUH?...Having said that, my non-performance cars (Jeep Grand Cherokee & Ford Flex) must all rock and keep me happy on the road. “Radar Love” has to come through clear and loud! In my rat rod…Sorry, no tunes except the small block ford. I can listen to a live band when I get to where I’m go’in.

Cool…I’m debating on starting on my 66 GMC pickup project, if I actually go through with it the tank is going in the back, and 4 – 10” subs behind the seat.

I heard that…Nothing like “Radar Love” at ear bleeding levels, I keep thinking I’ll grow out of it…or Not!

I happen to like both! I have a decent old school system in the trunk! I build my cars to drive on the road my day’s of all out horsepower are way behind me! Not that i don’t appreciate the mega horsepower street machines out there I love um! But i crank up some Buddy Guy or Stevie Ray and down the road I go!

It’s funny how when i’m in my 57 sedan it’s rock n roll only. it has a amp ,6×9s and subs -I like to turn it up! In any other truck or car of mine the stock radio tuned to the local station will do. I tried country in the 57 ( 1 time ) it just didn’t feel right.

Yeah…Rock and Roll makes you push the gas a little harder, I had the same thing happen with country music…made me want to pull over and park the car.

It’s a good mix a little extra power under the hood and under the trunk lid…works for me!
