15 yrs to build
Gary, What a GREAT paint job, love the pictures. Glad to be able to meet you at the show. I am sure good things are coming your way. Keep up the great workmanship…....AL
Thanks Al, it was a pleasure to meet you at the show. I keep thinking back to the frame and how well the construction and the attention to detail you put into it.. It was a pleasure to finish up what you started. If you know of anyone needing a paint job be sure to tell them about me… thanks.G.
This is the car I thought would win the Ridler award. It was the best paint I can ever recall. My wife and I spent the most time with this vehicle.
Can you say mega talent. I cant even perceive how difficult that paint job was. I have seen many try but with little to no success.
Thank you! yea, believe it or not i bought 11 different house of color pearls and mixed up 21 different colors… It was a difficult task… but, I made the mistake of using the house of color clear… oye!!
Hey Gary the paint looks a lil faded in spots LOL Beautiful paint job bro!!
Hey Gary, thanks for the buddy invite. You do some gorgeous paintwork. The fade on that car had to be a meticulous and time consuming task, now add all the other details involved in it, oh yeah… don’t forget to fade the engine too… and the interior(while it’s in the car… AWESOME work! I hear ya on the HOC clear. I hate to use products I’m not really familiar with and especially on that kind of a job.
Thanks, when the car was brought in to my shop, it was originally supposed to be painted all orange, and I talked the owner into the fade… that made my life a little more difficult… but it seems to be worth it… also, if you check out the PACC GARAGE, BLOG on the “summit racing clear vs. House of Kolor”... I went into a little bit of a rant, of some of the issues I had w/ their clear. Well, keep up the great craftmanship…G.
Very Nice Work
This ‘56 is absolutely Awesome.
Very stunning car I can definetly appreciate that caliber of work has it been in any magazines?
Nope, not that I know of…. the only coverage of it was taken at Detroit Autorama… I know it is going on the show circuit hot and heavy this year… no outdoor shows until the ISCA circuit is done… Maybe by then it will be published.. I am waiting on professional photos of it myself… thanks for the kind words…G.

Great car! Paint work is fantastic. I seen the car at the Cleveland Autorama. I was there doing appraisals. You do fabulous work. Can’t wait to write an appraisal on one of the cars you have done! Keep up the nice work!
We saw this 56 in Detroit and admired the craftsmanship. Nice work.
Beautiful Car … I also seen this car in Detroit … Fantastic Job Gary!!! I had some stainless steel in the pinstripe booth that was striped by John Harrow (designs not panels). Again beautiful job!!
it is so important to show the people the working process to achieve the final product. an impressive insight. I can now appreciate and respect the work that was was put into this fine work of art.
nice work gary..have u had any dealings with r-m products? they make a killer clear called “glamor”..hoc is WAY over priced imo! ;o)>keep um straight…jake
Hey thanks for the kind words Jake, thanks for the info. I talked to a few R-M reps. about using their top coats on the 54 Chevy, but they dropped the ball, and the local rep didn’t bother to return my phone calls… I got some names from Stephan Gesterkampf… (check out his garage) who uses R-M products.. keep up the great work!G.
Hard work always pays off! I think you have done an exceptional job with your cars. Great stance and Luv the Colors and especially the Paint job. Awesome work!
Have never seen a more beautiful paint job – Hubby is drooling! Simply superb
You could frame that engine in an Art Gallery. The whole Chevy is a work of Art. I’m having a Design Brothers moment …This is great to see the process. Thanks for sharing Bro
