This is my friends truck. I am helping him patch some rust and lowering it down where it belongs.
From the looks of the floor boards this thing has been in the Midwest for its whole life.
Lower it and drive the wheels off it
Sweet! Thats cool! How low are you going in the front?
Already 3 on the spindles, the 2” narrowed beam is adjustable from 2” to 7” of drop. So, we will probably only go another 3 – 4”.
Are you going to have to alter where and/or how the seats bolt to accomodate the tire when it comes up in the body in the front?
Yeah I think we will have to raise them up a couple of inches. We will see once we get the narrowed beam.
it will get good mileage…you know cause that one nut thing….less weight…Robbie…see how rusty stuff is we start with out here??
I think the milage thing is out the window, the rear tires are about 5” smaller than the stock ones. You never know though with the one nut factor. The rust is killing me, hard to find a solid spot to weld patch panels to.
DUDE ONE OF MY FRIENDS IS BULDING ONE OF THOSE . I WILL HAVE TO LET HIM KNOW ABOUT THIS SITE.
For sure man. This is a great community of people. Help your friend get started.
I wish I had a pic of “Tank” attacking the rear bumper for ya
That would be the best. Do you think we could stage it out someday?
Nice looking VW project. Always wanted one of these cool rides. I guess it was a SOCAL thing. Very Cool
