Hub Visits Pure Vision, Steve Strope's Count Down to SEMA with Euro Inspired American Muscle
As the wheels touched down on the 747 at LAX, I whipped out my trusty mobile phone and made a call to one of the modern masters of custom muscle cars, Steve Strope. Steve graciously invited the Hub cub reporter to come up to Simi Valley to drop in at his Pure Vision Design shop where he and his team are working on a very unique 1969 Dodge Charger that will make it’s debut at SEMA 2008.
The car was recently back from paint and the custom mixed “Merlot” color looked absolutely stunning.
After a quick stop by the local pizza joint for some lunch, we headed back to the shop where the crew was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the wheels, which were being hand delivered by Brad Fanshaw of Bonspeed, who custom fabricated the beautiful 6 spoke wheels.
As the Pure Vision Design crew worked getting the wheels on, Steve and Brad fine tuned the fittings and discussed any final modifications that might be needed.
Meanwhile, I got check out the many parts and pieces in progress waiting for their place on this beautiful machine.
I also got to wander around the shop and check out some of the unique things you’re guaranteed to find around any garage.
The Hub News Crew would like to extend a special thanks to Steve and the Pure Vision crew (Kelly Cox, Pete Harksell and Mitch Hedrick) for giving all us Hub Heads a sneak peek at what surely will be a show stopper at SEMA. If you’re at the show, be sure to mosey on over to the Mopar display to see this one of kind European sports car inspired American Muscle.
