Welcome to the Hub, Where Car People Connect

posted in: jay's hub garage, news on December 18, 2007 at 12:56 AM

Hey – if you’re peeking around the Hub, you may notice a few gremlins sneaking around the engine. We just took this baby live . . . in the late hours/wee morning of December 17/18, 2007. So, please help us make the HubGarage one of the coolest car communities on the web – like we’ve been tellin’ everybody it’s gonna be!!!

We designed the Hub Garage to be a simple, clean, super user-friendly and easy to use. It’s basically a blank canvas for you to fill up with you car photos, videos from YouTube (soon you’ll be able to upload direct to the Hub) and write news posts in your garage. You can also post your news blogs to the main Hub news section . . .

Special props to the Hub dev team for pulling this dream into a reality. To Scott for all his support. Thanks also to my man CJ for his energy, effort and ehthusiam as we get this baby cranked up! Keep an eye out for Chris in upcoming Hub Original web shows.

So – we’re calling the site a “soft launch” for now and it will be in Beta test for a few weeks (which is just a big fat excuse for some things not working or looking as pretty as they could.).

Lots of promises of things to come, but for now we’ve got the frame built, engine running, wheels on the axles and we’re basically ready to roll. So go ahead and take the Hub for a spin. Build your garage, go inside to post photos, videos and write your own news or blog posts (like this one). Check out other cars like yours or happen along something interesting. Post comments, rate cars, make buddies all at HubGarage.com

OK. It’s late & I’ve gotta go to bed. We’re puttin oursleves out there now – we hope you like what you see. If you have ideas, comments, complaints, questions, help about the Hub, we would love to hear from you. Anyway, we love to get feedback (of all kinds) from users (of all kinds) and see what they think. It’s the people and their cars that make up the Hub community and you ultimately will help us navigate the road that lies ahead.

Cheers, I’m gonna rock a party ‘til the break of dawn . . . (naw, I’m kidding. I’m crashing . . . much more to do tomorrow.)

LATER! Thanks to all the new Hub Members!

Cookieman Thanks! It’s great to have people like you who get what we’re trying to do – make it easy for car people to share their stuff – and connect with other car people . . . so they can spend time working on their car, not trying to figure out how to use a website or computer. I’ll definitely take you up on your offer to help spread the word. I’ll be in touch via email and I can send you some promo materials to hand out. THANK YOU!
