This has to be a super rare 78 El Camino SS. I’ve never seen another one with these options and the Super Sport package. I’ve seen 4 speed SS’s with the factory 350 and no options and I’ve seen plain 78 El Camino’s loaded with some of these options without the 350, but never a twin to this one. If anyone knows of a similar 78 SS El Camino please let me know.
History of this Vehicle
This El Camino was ordered by a Gm Corporate Employee with every available option and upgrade and is all documented with invoices and the original buildsheet. I’m the 3rd owner and I’m in the process of doing my first frame-off restoration on it. The car was purchased by the second owner as his first car and after he got married his wife made him park it. It sat outside for nearly 10 years before I purchased it in 2008. It was all original except for the paint and stereo. It has a rare matching number 350 V8 and 350 Turbo transmission. Power everything including antenna, bucket seats, windows and locks. Too much to list so I will post the pics of the invoices and buildsheet.
Plans for this Vehicle
Complete frame off restoration underway. Have purchased tons of GM NOS parts to put the car back to it’s original state.
