Motorex '09 a Ripper!!

posted in: nomad11 garage, news on July 13, 2009 at 08:49 PM

Meguiar’s Motorex 2009 held at Sydney Showground was a real ripper of an event. It had all the makings of being spectacular from the moment the doors opened for people to bring in their new cars for the House of Kolor Inauguration. An amazing array of 7 cars and two bikes made the inauguration one to remember. A couple of stand-outs – the RX-7 Tuner owned by the Crown Prince of Malaysia and flown over specifically for this event; and the launch of Mick Fabar’s RAWR - a car with a very serious concept.

On the Saturday, the winners of the Meguiar’s Superstars for the Best of Breed Hot Rod, Street Machine and Hi-Tech Tuner for the past 12 months of shows across Australia were awarded on the main stage. Congratulations to Stephen and Kathy Rich for their incredible 33 Top Hot Rod, to Danny Mikdessi and the Custom Body Works Team with their beautiful Subaru WRX for top Hi-Tech Tuner and to Chris Retzos for the Top Street Machine – 1957 Chevrolet Belair coupe.

Plenty of events throughout the two days led to a bundle of fun for all and then the awards were presented on the Sunday afternoon for the Liqi-Moly Custom Auto Expo NSW State Hot Rod Titles. Congratulations to Laurie Seguna with his amazing Holden Gemini for winning Car of the Show.

Now we all can’t wait to see the year ahead and be part of the 10th big Meguir’s Motorex with huge celebrations planned.

Thanks as well must go to all the other exhibitors and sponsors. In particular, a big Thank you to Shannons Insurance for bringing something new to the event this year with the Shannons Classic Auction – what a hit!
