World Famous Hemi Under Glass
After 39 years at the wheel of one of the most famous and unusual cars in drag racing, the Hemi Under Glass, Bob Riggle decided to hang it up.
I saw that cool ride at the nationals held in Indiana many, many years ago and I still think it is super bad.
I watched these two perform many times during the earlie 70’s in Kansas & Oklanome. Alway a great show.
That was an AWESOME car, the LITTLE RED WAGON was a favorite of mine.
I liked that wagon also
I saw this car race many times. Very Unigue for the Time, Great Photo!
he will be missed :)
Never had the privilege to see it run in person I did see it at a couple shows in static!
That had to be VERY COOL!
I think all the old wheel standers were a BLAST to watch!
Never tire of watching them on video!
That had to be a darn FUN time! Watching them run down the track!
Maybe they can find anothe driver for it to keep it on the tracks!
Hey Joe, do you remember the Jolly Rancher Fire truck? These two pictures were taken at Bandimere Speedway in Denver in 1991 at the Super Chevy Show.
I try to make it up to my son’s every year in October so we can go to Byron Raceway because they run the “Wheel Standing Nationals” at that time. They give awards totaling around $75,000 for the longest / highest and most radical wheel stand. It is an awesome sight to be seen.
My favorite photo of the LiL Red Wagon
Yes I do remember the Jolly Rancher it too was always a crowed pleaser! Someone should bring them all back!
I’ve seen the coverage of the Wheel Standing Nationals on Television and in magazines never have had the opportunity to see it “LIVE” but it’s on my bucket list!
I wonder how many of those LiL Red trucks there were?
i love every car race show. i am always present. however, i did not make it to go to that show since i have a work at an auto repair shops. i wanna see that show again. maybe i’ll just download it.
