About
I wanted to go oval track racing, my biggest passion. I looked for a ride, but no one was looking for a driver. I saw Legends cars on TV and thought they were cool, but soon discovered that Dwarf Cars were racing in my area, so I went and watched a few races, spoke to many of the owners, took a lot of pictures, studied front and rear suspension geometry, bought a used 1984 Suzuki GS 1100cc motrcycle, took it apart and used all the engine and control items, bought some steel and aluminum, designed my car and built it.
The first time on the track with it was at the now closed Cassidy Speedway track in Nanaimo, BC. It went very well. I ran so fast that the other drivers agreed that I need not run with a rookie flag on my car, even though I claimed rookie of the year award in 1997. I won my first race the following year at Penticton Speedway and never looked back. I won more races in my last two years of driving this car than any other driver, but still failed to win a championship because of engine failures or incidents that lost me valuable points. Despite that, I am very proud of my accomplishments on and off the track. I still get offered rides in my former competitors cars, and still win.
