WORLD OF SPEED 2009: BLOWFISH MAKES ITS FIRST RUN
posted in: rad rides by troy garage, news on September 17, 2009 at 05:13 PM
Blowfish getting ready to run, it was the first car today to run on the SALT!
Rain, rain, go away! Finally after two days of letting the salt dry out the Blowfish made it’s first run, it was the first car of the day to run.
The Blowfish hit the 3 mile marker at 290 mph! George let off the throttle and rode out the last 2 miles of the course.
The only change the team is making, is an addtional 2lbs of boost in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear.
The record in the class is currently set at 262, the Blowfish is sitting in the impound area waiting to make it’s second run on Friday morning. They take the average of the 2 runs and determine the new record.
Way to go George and the Rad Rides Team!

A show quality car that actually works. Kudos to Troy and the rest of the build team, and a real heartfelt thanks to Mr. Poteet for having the balls to not only drive it – but to go after speed records while doing it!!! I’ll bet you couldn’t smack the grins off any of their faces. Good luck on 300 boys!

Was there when he took off of the line. Was very surprised at how long it took the car to shift into a higher gear. The car sounded awsome and was very impressive to see how fast it went away from us standing on the start line. I hope they meet there goal and get the record they are after. I would not have the guts to send such a superbly built car down the track let alone even get it out on the salt. Had a hard time just driving my car through the salty water to get to the parking area. It was well worth the 2 mile walk to the starting line to see this awe inspiring car do what it does best. Run and run fast.
