Some pics of pics from the Pro-Street days and Bright colors!!
This has got to be from the late eighties, lol!!!
I think some were 1988 and some around 1991 or newer. But your correct!!
I remember this show,I was there and my multi colored tube chassis late model Camaro was in a magazine photo shoot.
Cool! so are we correct on guesses as far as the years?
I just got out the mag ( I have a few copies) and it is from August 1991, so the show was a few months prior to that. Man I miss those shows, there was nothing like them! I loved it even more at night after the fairgrounds closed down and everybody hit the streets! What an era,and what great memories I have of it.
I’m looking at those pics, and I remember each of the cars there. I especially liked the multi colored Baretta of Al Hinds from Canada. I remember the car having Minitelube on the top front windshield for a sponsor.
Next to the Power tour these where some of the best show I have ever been to.Just wish I would have been a little more people savoy where I would have talked to more of these guy’s.
I remember those car shows that was a great time it never seemed to be the same once they lost the major sponsors. The new version is nothing like the old days it’s not even at the fairgrounds any more.http://www.steelvalleysupernationals.com/Contact_us.html
OH,the good ole’ daz, never thought I’d ever be sayin that!
these are cool!i remember these cars from ill. nats. alsothx!!
I lived 20 miles from the show and got to spend every day and evening looking at cars and meeting people. I’ve got photo albums from each year until I moved to Iowa in 2001. Thanks for posting yours.
I live about five miles from the Canfield Fair Grounds. They did have nice, AND LARGE, shows over there. They always tied-in with cruising in Boardman which is straightdown RT 224 from Canfield. It’s never been quite the same sincethe Boardman Police got tired of their overtime hours and the city council chased the Hot Rod SuperNationals out of town. It was a lot of fun! There are shows all over this area. Ohio has tons of hot rodders!!!
It was a LONG drive for me but,Man was it worth it! I,met some of the COOLEST builders and seen of the most AWESOME RIDEZ-Wish they’d come back to Ohio-The State of KILLER RIDEZ and Builders!!!
