I *NEED* to build this !!!
To customize or not? That is the Question. This truck has been parked in my brain for quite some time now and frankly…. It’s very heavy! I thought I had better get the sketch pad out and put the ‘soft leads’ to work. After getting home from work, I did a really quick sketch of the original.
The stocker looks pretty plain, so I started fixing all the ‘broken’ on it until 5 am and this is what happened: The top was chopped 3 1/2”, the body was dropped over the frame about 7”, the stock ‘I’ beam was dropped 5 extra inches, and the fenders had to be raised on the body to make more room for the large front wheels. The front facia, including the headlights were scrapped in favor of a more stylish early style, and finally, the bed sides are contoured to match the cab complete with bead rolled side reveals and are high enough to obscure the rollback ramp deck.
Started just about midnight and finished at 5:11 AM, I wish it was so easy to finish the real thing!
