1958 Apache Dreamin Concept by SpaceRods' Sal Salvador
Thanks to Sal Salvador of SpaceRods!!! Awesome Rendering Sal!!
The guidance given was to design something that is not too difficult and not too costly. We are just a bunch of mildly skilled soldiers with limited capabilities and limited funding.
The original front of this truck is so bloated and fat in appearance, so we stayed with the simplistic concept by applying a late model Chevy look with lights and not-too-difficult fiberglass work, with the intent of keeping the look natural.
We modified the original headlight area into actual functioning air scoops with some grill tubes inserted to match the grill. We tried different lights and custom grills and they all looked out of place and wrong. The overall lines of this nostalgic truck lend itself to a pre-existing later model grill set-up.
We like this set-up because of the simplicity and practicality of application.
We tried different colors and this deep crimson candy color was the winner.
We didn’t do a 2 tone paint because the 2 tone paint job would be a little more difficult, time consuming and costly for the soldier’s budget. The same with graphics. We were going to apply some cool “Tribal Tattoo” graphics with “Apache” symbolic forms, but when we got to this point, we loved it without graphics.
We agree with SpaceRod’s Sal Salvador, the designing artist, that incorporating graphics and actual C & C objects like spears, shields, weapons etc. it will devalue the appearance.
As an added feature, Sal added some side coves that run from the front fender into the doors that serve as actual working air vents facilitating the air circulation from the engine compartment.
Once again, Thanks Sal
God Bless

Well, the cool part is that the truck currently sports a fiberglass tilt front end. No metal forming involved. If we can’t get the fiberglass right, we can just cut it off and start over. How cool is that!
