In 1963 the original owner of this 1964 Impala took delivery, of the vehicle, the day JFK was shot. The car has since served as a regular driver and a driving instructional tool for his several daughters. Brad Jones the second and current owner purchased this car with a dream in mind. No longer would it be subjected to novice drivers and daily abuse. Spade Kreations put the car “under the knife” first by chopping the front windshield 3” and making the convertible into a permanent roadster. The door handles were shaved and the body was painstakingly massaged for the “smooth as glass” DuPont Hot Hues “Super Jet Black” paint job. The bumpers and all the remaining trim was shaved, smoothed, streamlined and sent to Advanced Plating for a first class show chrome finish. The stance was finished off with Air Ride Technologies suspension components, and custom built set of TIS Modular wheels 22” in the front and 24” in the rear, shod with Toyo tires. For display purposes, at the SEMA show, the car was also fitted with a set of the newly released 20” Boyd Coddington Crown Jewel wheels on the opposing side.
The interior was given equal attention. A custom dashboard, flow-through style center console, door panels and ISS based seats were built and wrapped in Coast to Coast Leather hides. The interior was made modern with Dakota Digital gauges, a 3000 watt Kicker stereo system, a 9.2” Alpine tv monitor and dvd player housed in a custom panel which was airbrushed to look like black woodgrain. The rear seat passengers were also brought up to speed with a separate 6.5” lcd screen and dvd player.
The trunk was given the same treatments with a pair of 8”, a pair of 5.25” speakers, a dedicated Kicker amp, and topped off with a 7” monitor for the enjoyment of all the passers-by.
