We, here in the North Counrty ( Canada, eh? ) are fortunate to have an Automotive Newspaper located in a small Village/Town ( Bothwell, S.W. On. ) to help connect the car enthusiasts of the 10 Provinces. The ‘Old Autos’ newspaper has been around for over 23 years ( Est. 1987 ). This publication gives us everything from articles, to event schedules, suppliers and vehicle listings etc. For many of us, it’s become a tradition …. renewing our subscription to our favoured reading material. Sitting down with our NEW calendar in January and recording our planned car shows/events for the New Year. I know many car guys who can tell you exactly what day of the month they expect to receive their paper in the mail.
Pictured here ( in front of the paper’s Head Office ) is SOTC member Bob with his beautifully restored ‘64 Thunderbird Convertible. This car belonged to a former club member and what creates an amazing history is when a car changes hands BUT stays in the club and we can keep track of it’s owners and whereabouts. This car just keeps getting improvements made to it’s already great condition.
NOW, things are even better! We have the HUB! More friends! More contacts! Colour pics, history and Interactive memories. .... Who could ask for more? Not only do we have the HUB daily BUT also the paper every couple of weeks.
At this rate, you can’t help but feel that everybody in Canada, the U.S. and even the world are your next door neighbour.
How can our hobby get any better than that? What a BLAST!
