'Bird Nest' Resurrected!

' So you take 'swell-look'n' '57 T-Bird and add a few more options, including the very rare 'Bird Nest' and what do you get.....Lots of attention, that's what!'
A good friend of mine ( an older Dude …older than me, that is!) who lives in ‘Nowheresville’ Ontario, Canada bought a solid ‘57 Bird a few years back. It was nice BUT not all that unique or eye-catching. Now, you must understand that this man is stuck on his cars, including 5 T-birds!
He set out to enhance the look of his little Bird and somewhere along the line discovered the ‘Bird Nest’ idea and a guy who still had the plans to build them.
NOT to ever be a ‘Stick in the Mud’ the venture was undertaken and the ‘Roadster-Style’ seat was added.
Now, NOT everybody even knows that this was originally an option offered through Ford and installed by a company out of Burbank, CA. The ‘Niffty’ ( am I dating myself with that word?) thing is that when the trunk is closed, you don’t even know the seat exists. Can I say…..this is really ‘COOL! ’ ?
Now this particular modification is done in fibreglass in order to lighten the load ( there is a Continental Kit on this car, too!).
Just imagine the difference 5 California Roadster wheels and Coker wide whites made to this puppy!
There maybe a generous number of better ‘57 T-Birds out there ( right Mr. Minter?) but I don’t think there are many more ’ UNIQUE IN ALL THE WORLD ’.
