I can't believe I'm doing this! I'm reluctantly considering selling our '54 'Vicky' !

My wife and I bought this car in Marysville, Mich. after seeing it at a ‘Burn-out’ Cruise Night in Port Huron. I learned to drive ‘stick’ on a ‘53 Ford Mainline tudor and I always liked the feel of the car.
Members of our club used to tease Dee and I ….. calling us those ‘Conservative T-Bird’ people. We owned a ‘64 Landau at the time. When we bought the ‘54 it was plain white (Creamy white ) like the original colour.
The car was customized with a 390 w/ 4V & C-6 w/ Ford 9” .
The skirts are steel and the car is decent. What makes it for us and many who’ve seen the car…..are the flames laid on by none other than ‘Yosemite Sam’ Radoff himself ( many years ago now )
This is NOT a perfect car BUT smacks of nostagia to Dee and I. My health forced us to put it away for many years and I’m now just getting it back up and running.
I know my step sons, foster son and grand sons may be sorely disappointed IF we were to sell it BUT I’m just testing the waters as to the desirability of this car. I won’t just give it away but IF I sell it…......it has to be to a good home.
I need to examine the car for any improvements/upgrades I need to make…..ie. brakes etc. I’ve just put newer Coker wide whites on it w/ 15” wheels w/ new Lancer Spinners (2). I’ve decided I need 2 more.
Somewhere along the line, I collected some Ford sheet metal ie. lower rear quarters etc. in case I ever needed them. They are still with the car.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

it’s a very sweet ride…and besides the sentimental value…it would appeal to a lot of people…i’m in that group…i’d be proud to own it…and i don’t want a trailer queen…lol…it’s got history :)

Well Steve I don’t know what to say except ” I don’t have much disposable income right now”. Are you sure this is the one that must go? You must have something with less history/attachment to it? Say… maybe …the newest addition – the T- Bird you just bought?

Yeah! It needs to be on the Road! Cars that sit too long are like ‘Lost Treasures’.......they’re really meant to be enjoyed! Dee & I have had a BLAST with this car!

Hey, with NO power steering or brakes, IF I wasn’t here…..Dee would never drive the car! Before it needs alot of work…....it needs to be enjoyed and kept up properly, right?

Well it’s too bad it’s got to go, but if you get her going, you can drive it to cruise nights with the for sale sign on it. I’d like to see it out this year !!!
