Can anyone with experience give me some feedback on using this setup? I plan on using galvanized steel pipes

I have heard that galvanized wasn’t recommended for air compressor systems but couldn’t remember where so I did a quick search and found information at this link http://www.tptools.com/lp2/Tech_Notes.html
Hope this helps clear it up.

Will take a look. Thank you. Do you think the design I posted is good besides the galvanized pipe?

Yeah the link you posted is a good setup. I had a small 4” section of galvanized on my compressor before I got my garage built. When I moved the compressor into the new garage the inside of that piece was just as rusty, which was not alot, as the black iron that it was attached to. When I set it back up it got all black iron. Invest in an electric threader if you can find a cheap one, or rent one, or borrow one. I did mine with a hand threader and it was a work out to say the least especially the 3/4.

I was wondering about that when I was looking online at the black iron on lowes website. They had the ends covered with some sort of cap. Was thinking this was to protect the threads, but guess not…

...hi Steven…when i plumbed the shop air in the new barn i used a 3/4” maxline master kit from rapidairproducts….
...it was neat and easy to work with…no special tools required…you can get the products from amazon or northerntool etc…most important consideration is condensation flow and removal…install quality filter/dryers and assure your design either flows back to the compresser or down and out to manual drains…

Thanks Ivan. Will check out the kits. Does Northern Tool also have a kit?
