My parents have three children. Myself, my brother, and this older and much fatter ‘40. It’s been in the family since 1988 when my parents brought it home from Indiana, already chopped. This was the car I remember driving to shows in as a child, laying across the back seat with my older brother punching me once in a while for getting in “his space”. My parents must have a huge stash of money somewhere from all the space my brother bought from them. I never caught on.
After I got my license, this was my high school car on nice days.
It’s been built a few times – the first revision removed the door handles, side trim, hood trim, drip rails, trunk handle, etc. and added a lick of flame where the side trim was. The flame was applied in the mid 90’s, I believe.
The car is currently idle, waiting for its older brother, the ‘32, to be finished. After it’s done, I’ll install two (update: three if I wait till December!) child seat anchors in the back seats, and it will begin writing another chapter of it’s history.
