About
Hotrodder’s Bulletin Board introduction message to Forum…
1964 Olds Starfire – British Columbia, Canada
Just picked this up and will be going through the process throughly and slowly to get the results that the Original Restorer had as his own intentions for his own car… he now has a Wife from the Eastern European area and a little boy of about four, so had to make changes in his life-style, but this now allows me to finish his excellent work on the Chassis and Engine (they’re like brand new out of the factory…)
Now it’s time for the Body Shell and all of the accessories and details to be applied… to his same level of Quality…
I learned to drive in a Super 88 – 1964, so I am sort of familiar with this vehicle, but this particular model has more historical connections for the Autobody Shop and the era that this car represents…
Our family has had a body shop around itself since 1946, in various forms from Uncles and Aunts to my father’s business on his own from 1951 to his passing in 1997, and his business is still functioning…
I would like to cover the restoration on some of the Social Media pages for the education of the area’s public as to what it takes to put a great car like this together…
It is a White body with an original Tan interior… I will also consider the Navy availability for the interior, as these are the Shop’s Corporate colours and the intention is to utilize this vehicle for Social Civic Events around the Vancouver/Burnaby area – there are about 25 communities with over 2 1/2 million people in this South West region of British Columbia…
Anybody that has any input… will be graciously accepted…
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Zol Fox
History of this Vehicle
A fellow on Vancouver Island got this from his father who restores 1959 Cadillacs and others, and has proceeded over a ten year period to bring back the quality of the Chassis and the Engine and some parts of the body shell… and in the mean time has also collected all of the bits and pieces of this car to also add into it the accessories required to make it a unique vehicle…
Plans for this Vehicle
To bring this car up to the same high standards that have been applied to the Chassis & Engine restoration, and utilize it around the region for Civic & Community events
